Black Female Artists of Star Wars: Karen S. Darboe

Writer's picture: Zoe HintonZoe Hinton

This week is National Black Women in the Arts Week, so we thought it would be a great time to give some love to the Black women who make some of our favorite Star Wars art as amazing as it is. First up is Karen Darboe!

Karen Darboe is an incredible artist who's work includes a variety of comics for Marvel and Disney (including Bloodline: Daughter of Blade and Scar), concert posters and of course, her own original art.

In Star Wars, this month we can look out for her upcoming variant of Legacy of Darth Vader with some gorgeous Mother Aniseya art. Her art always features gorgeous colors, geometry that knows how to catch your eye, and she knows how to make a "glow" effect really pop against a background. I really hope to see her do some more work for Star Wars in the future!

You can follow Karen S. Darboe on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, and buy some of her art for yourself on INPRNT and Redbubble.
