Happy National Love Your Pet Day! If you have a furry, scaly, feathered or other category of friend, be sure to give them some extra love today. Star Wars is filled with some pet friends of its own, and of course the people who love them. Today, we're going to celebrate just a few of the Star Wars characters who form a mighty team with their pets (and of course love them dearly).
Lina Soh & Matari and Voru
Lina Soh, Chancellor of the Republic during the High Republic age and architect of the Great Works such as Starlight Beacon, is also a notorious pet lover. Everywhere she goes, Lina is accompanied by her two targons, Matari and Voru. They never left her side, and acted not only as her companions, but as her loyal bodyguards as well.
Embo & Marrok
Embo is another hero with a fighting hound. Embo is never seen without his loyal anooba, Marrok. While Marrok can track and take down any of Embo's targets, he is also a great snuggler, as Embo's pseudo-niece Jas Emari remembers.
Omega & Batcher
Omega always has a strong affinity for the creatures of the galaxy, but none quite as strong as the love she has for Batcher. Omega disobeyed Imperial orders while she was imprisoned to save Batcher's life, and she would later be instrumental to helping her and Crosshair escape. Batcher then joined the Bad Batch and became both a loyal ally on the battlefield, as well as a treat-mongering cuddle buddy.
Kay Vess & Nix
The latest Star Wars video game, Outlaws, introduces us to the inseparable pair Kay and Nix. Kay and Nix do everything together, whether it's sneaking into crime syndicate bases or trying food across the galaxy. When Nix is kidnapped by the Hutts, Kay risks everything and stops at nothing to get him back- even when she's staring down Jabba the Hutt himself.
Torra Doza & Buggles
And of course we have our youngest pet-lover on the list, Torra Doza. Torra Doza is the youngest of the Ace pilots on the Colossus, and among her closest friends is Buggles the Voorpak. Buggles is always there for Torra, and she often hugs him and talks to him when she needs a little support. And of course, Buggles helps her when she gets into trouble- he's great at causing distractions!
